Wheel Nuts This is something that is not recommended and to be very careful of when buying a beetle or a type 2.While working on these cars and vans we have noticed that there are many vehicles being fitted with alternative wheels and items such as hubs being altered to take them.
However many of these alterations can be dangerous also result in some vehicles such as vans that should have commercial tyres ending up with car tyres.
Commercial tyres are fitted for a reason. As you can see if you study this photo you will see that in this case the wheel nuts only tighten half way on the studs of the hub.
