Welding
Here you can see the floor and heater channel removed and then the new ones welded in.We then add on an extra bottom sill on all saloon cars for extra strenght and longer lifespan. Next you see the door pillar removed and a new one being lined up with the replacement door.

After the door is aligned correctly you can see the rear complete quarter panel removed and the replacement panel being aligned and welded in. Some restorers would argue the point regarding removing the bodyshell to do this work however in our experience when a car body is as rusted and weak as this one is we think it is better to carry out the welding in this manner as it stops the body from flexing and when aligned correctly retaining the integrity of the main body structure. Removing the body is fine if your vehicle is strong in the beginning however this is not the case with most european cars that still exsist.

You can see here the rear of the car has been removed .

The next stage you will see the car on the other side having the exact same treatment. It is aswell to note that these major body panels that are being used on this car are getting harder to find so a car that has these panels will retain its structure and value for a long time. While many of these cars will again maybe need floor and sill work within maybe ten years or so they will still be restorable again when the major body panels are not around. Of course this is why we recommend to inspect and seal your car every few years to avoid major welding

As you can see we are making good progress with this car. The passenger side has had the same treatment as the drivers side. Also there has been a chassis frame head section welded in. Next you will see the rear apron fitted. You can see the inside rear wheel arches have been fabricated with new heavy guage steel.

You can see that we have come a long way with this car.The rear apron has been fitted and the rear inner wheel arches have been completed. Here you can also see the front has been removed and the new front sections are aligned and waiting to be welded together. Also you can see the front bulkhead section has been fabricated to strenghten the car up.The welding is nearly complete and soon we will be on to the bodywork on this car.

As you can see all welding is finished on this car and the chassis has been bodysealed. Next the bodywork will commence.
